Terms of Use

By using Note Filer you agree to these terms. They cover the licence, the Pro subscription, and the limits of what we promise.

1. Licence

Note Filer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source of the app, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

2. Your content is yours

You retain all rights to the notes you create. We claim no licence over them and, since the app sends us nothing, we hold no copy of them. You are responsible for your content and for keeping your own backups.

3. Note Filer Pro

The app is free to use. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks sync across your devices and proactive resurfacing.

• Price: $34.99 per year or $3.99 per month (local pricing may vary).
• Free trial: 7 days for new subscribers. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.
• Renewal: the subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
• Managing and cancelling: in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited on purchase of a subscription.
• If your subscription ends: a device that is already syncing keeps syncing. We don't switch sync off and strand your notes on whichever device wrote them last. Your notes stay yours and stay readable, and you can export them to Markdown at any time on any tier.

4. Requirements

The on-device AI requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence, running macOS 26, iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later. On unsupported hardware, AI filing is unavailable and the app falls back to manual folders. Sync requires an iCloud account and available iCloud storage.

5. Availability

The app is provided as-is. Features may change, and we may add, alter or remove functionality in future versions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Note Filer is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data. Keep your own backups — the app offers Markdown export for exactly this reason.

7. Third-party terms

Use of the app is also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and, for sync, Apple's privacy policy. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and is not a party to these terms except as a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits consumer rights you have under the law where you live.

9. Changes

If these terms change, the date above changes and the updated version is posted here. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
